These are my designs based on Raksha Bandhan- a festival that celebrates the brother and sister relationship. The idea is the sister ties a thread around the brother's arm which is meant to protect him. In return he gives her gifts. I remember that those boys who have many sisters/cousins means they have a LOT of gift to buy. I'm going to develop this idea in the design.
I was inspired by this print by Pardon My Hindi. The use of type on the wrist inspired me to use it on the Rakhi on the arm. Also I’ve looked at silhouette forms. I'm going to scan the images in and then layer parts of the designs I’ve created.
